Sunday, 4/7/13 – How Much Love?

There is no measure for love.

You don’t have 5 oz. of love or 3 feet of love or 1 pound of love. Love is either all or it is nothing. You cannot love someone in increments of 1/4 or 1/3 – you can love someone TO pieces but you cannot love them IN pieces.

When we give love to one another, we do not deplete our supply. I can give you all of my love and still have all of my love to give to you. I know of nothing else in the universe that can be measured this way, that can be given away and still be retained.

It seems that the more love that is given, the more love you have to give. This is the closest that I can come to understanding things that are “infinite” or “eternal”.

    Words from Rogers and Hammerstein:

    “A bell is no bell till you ring it;
    A song is no song till you sing it.
    And love in your heart wasn’t put there to stay.
    Love isn’t love till you give it away.”

    So nice to find a new blog this morning.
